Challenge

Despite India's considerable economic progress in the past two decades, poverty has continued to pervade rural areas. Children in rural areas have been denied access to adequate education and schools lack basic facilities; teachers are unmotivated and are often absent. Even those who eventually exceed twelve years of schooling graduate without basic skills, making it impossible to seek paid employment or pursue higher education.

Education is the only way for these rural children and women to escape poverty. Sri. Manjunatha Education and Development Society creates a bright future for 8,523 rural children in its 10 rural schools, providing quality infrastructure, computers, joyful learning aids, and holistic development through sports, yoga, and nutritious midday meals. Schools actively promote girls' education. Schools teach health and hygiene. Sri. The Manjunatha Education and Development Society, schools that impact more than 40,000 children.


Long term impact

Children who left school would have received a good quality education with English and computer skills and comprehensive development, allowing them to develop their full potential in whatever field they choose. This education is the key to getting them and their families out of the vicious cycle of poverty.
